Continuite wins in style on return The Ger Lyons-trained Continuite made an impressive return to action when opening her account in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden at Gowran Park this afternoon. The Juddmonte-owned filly had been edged out by Irish Oaks third Island Hopping when last seen over this course and distance last September. She went to post an 8/11 shot today and was to the fore throughout under Gary Carroll. He asked his mount for an effort passing the two pole and she asserted in the final furlong to post a four-and-a-quarter length winning margin over Guarded. Lyons said afterwards:- “That was lovely. She one of the little ones that lives right behind my bedroom and for some reason that’s the kiss of death to most horses when they say ‘that’s one of the bosses favs!’. She’s that because she’s sweet and she’s honest. “She got her pocket picked here last year and we’ve been kind to her. I thought she’d do that and would have been disappointed if she didn’t. “We’re still not sure where we lie with her. She’s a work in progress. “She’s not overly big but has the pedigree to die for.” The winner doesn’t hold any stakes entries and Lyons explained:- “It would be very rare for that team (Juddmonte) that I’d do early closing entries unless they’ve earned the right. That’s the rule. “They have no problem if I’m adamant, when I get it wrong, to supplement.”
