Coolmore have announced the death of leading national hunt sire Milan at the age of 24.

The son of Sadler's Wells was the champion national hunt sire of 2019/20.

His best progeny include Champion Hurdler Jezki, top class chasers Santini and Monalee as well as Grand National winner One For Arthur.

“Milan was a very good-natured horse and will be sadly missed by everyone here,” said Catherine Magnier in a statement on the Coolmore website.

“He was a wonderful servant providing top class horses year in year out.”

Milan was also a Group 1 winning racehorse, landing the 2001 St Leger in impressive fashion for Aidan O'Brien and Mick Kinane.
