Cooper back - at Kilbeggan Leading Irish jumps jockey Bryan Cooper returns from a four-month enforced absence with one ride at Kilbeggan on Friday evening. Cooper has been sidelined since May 6 after he broke a leg when he fell from Tepalo at Down Royal. The 21-year-old rider has now been given the go-ahead to return to action at Kilbeggan, where he partners the Dessie Hughes-trained Canaly in a three-mile hurdle race. Cooper shot to prominence last season when he secured three winners at the Cheltenham Festival in March. He then added two further Grade One triumphs a month later at Aintree. He said: "It's great to be back, but relief is the main feeling I've got - I've been counting down the days. "I've been riding out for the last month, but I was given clearance to come back two weeks ago. "I've not been missing out on anything too big, though, so I just thought it best to play it safe and give it a few weeks. "It's been a long four months, but I'd rather it (his injury) have happened when it did instead of in the middle of the winter. "I'm not setting myself any targets just yet - just taking things day by day - but I've got a lovely bunch of horses to ride again this year. "Hopefully it won't be long before I get back into the swing of things."
