Cork ground complaint

Davy Russell, Barry Geraghty, Martin Ferris and Shay Barry made a complaint to the stewards at Cork that there had been lack of sufficient effort to produce safe ground without jar.

In their opinion the ground was hard which needn't occur with a river close by.

Clerk of the course Paddy Graffin was of the opinion that the ground was faster than at the last meeting (a fortnight back) but that they'd done the best they could (track grounds people).

Michael O'Neill, manager, stated that watering ceased at 4pm on Thursday and that there had been plenty of watering up until then.

The matter was referred to the Turf Club for a full-investigation.
