Cork kicks off busy week-end for Irish Racing. An eight-race marathon at Cork kicks off a hectic few days for Irish racing and there is a mix of Flat and National Hunt racing on offer at the Mallow track where the action begins at 2.00. Michael Hourigan is on a bit of a roll and his King Carew is taken to make a winning debut over fences in the EBF Beginners Chase at 5.00. This is far from a strong event and likely dangers to the selection include Master Badsworth and Poetry Man. Laoch Na Mara, the mount of David Casey, looks the best bet in the 4yo maiden hurdle and he is taken to make amends for his second-last flight tumble at Leopardstown in February. The 2m4f handicap hurdle is an open looking contest and possibly it would be safest to side with top-weight Endless Magic and Norman Williamson. A trio of Flat races are also on the card and Dermot Weld and Pat Smullen could have the winning of the first couple with Madame Moonshine in the 2yo maiden and Peratus in the sprint handicap
