Cork now soft with further showers forecast

Today's Irish action comes from Cork where an eight-race Flat card kicks off at 4.40pm.

After 7mm of rain in the last 24 hours, the ground is now soft.

The forecast today is for scattered heavy showers with the possibility of 2-4mm (approx) of rain.

The change in going has led to a large number of withdrawals, with 25 scratchings made so far.

Classic Weekend Outlook As Rain Threatens Headquarters

Looking ahead to the Guineas meeting at the Curragh this weekend, the ground at Headquarters is good, good to yielding in places after 3mm of rain.

According to Met Éireann, there is the possibility of 10-15mm (approx) of rain through to Saturday.

Racing will be on on the stands' side track and 5 yards of fresh ground will be available on Sunday.
