COURT SET FOR RACING POST

Commanche Court looks set to represent Ted Walsh in the Stg#80,000 Racing Post Chase at Kempton Park on Saturday.

Last year`s Irish Grand National winner also heads the weights for Saturday`s De Vere Gold Cup at Haydock but has only been left in that race as a precaution.

Co. Kildare trainer Walsh also has Gold Cup hope Rince Ri among 25 confirmations made today for the Racing Post Chase but he is unlikely to take his place in the line-up.

Rince Ri is top weight for the three-mile chase following the expected defections of First Gold, See More Business, Florida Pearl and Alexander Banquet.

Last year`s runner-up Marlborough, who could instead go for the Jim Ford Chase at Wincanton on Thursday, was also among the confirmations as well as Tripleprint Gold Cup winner Robbo and the Francois Doumen-trained Djeddah.

If Marlborough misses Kempton in favour of a trip to Wincanton on Thursday Commanche Court could be left as top weight in the Kempton contest, the weightsrising a massive 21 lb as a result.

Walsh said today: 'We`ll run something in the Racing Post Chase, more than likely Commanche Court.

'He won`t be running at Haydock, he is in both races in case one of them is off but Kempton is the first preference.

'Ruby (Walsh) will ride him if he comes over.'

Rince Ri won the Ericsson Chase at Leopardstown on his only this season but missed the Pillar Property Chase at Cheltenham last month after scoping dirty.

'Rince Ri is back in work but probably won`t be forward enough to run,' Walsh added.

'He might run the week after, maybe at Leopardstown.'

Walsh is also set to give Martell Grand National winner Papillon an outing in the near-future.

He said: 'Papillon is in good form and he`ll run somewhere over the next couple of weeks, maybe at Leopardstown as well.'
