Cromwell considers trip change for Jer's Girl Gavin Cromwell is considering stepping Jer's Girl up in trip. A dual Grade One winner as a juvenile, the five-year-old found Gordon Elliott's Apple's Jade too strong the Lismullen Hurdle last weekend. Given she was getting 7lb from the OLBG Mares' Hurdle winner and as the two are eligible for the same races, Cromwell may have to change tack. "She ran a great race, she was just beaten by a very good mare, there's not much more to say other than that," said Cromwell. "We could step up in trip, that's a possibility. "Apple's Jade is just very good, there's no doubt it, that's where we are, stuck between a rock and a hard place really. "She ran a good race, but she was never going to get by Apple's Jade."
