Gavin Cromwell is double handed in the South West Rail Solutions Ltd Mares Chase at Exeter today and is hopeful of big runs from his duo in the Listed contest.

La Malmason is currently trading at 7/4 second favourite in the three-miler, behind 6/4 market leader Don’t Rightly Know.

She comes into the race off the back of a fine effort in a competitive handicap event at Limerick over Christmas, when chasing home Dancing Jeremy in the Tim Duggan Memorial Chase.

The Walk In The Park mare tackles this trip for the first time now and Cromwell said of her:-

“I don’t think the trip will be a problem but at the same time it is her first time.

“She looks well in off her mark, she hasn’t any penalties. She seems in great form and hopefully she has a good chance.

“Malina Girl ran well the last day (when third in Grade 3 company at Fairyhouse) and she seems in great nick. Hopefully she won’t be too far away.”
