Crow Ready For Guest Rematch John Quinn cannot wait to renew rivalries with Notable Guest when he saddles Crow Wood in Saturday´s John Smith´s Cup at York. The Settrington-based handler confirmed his six-year-old will definitely run in the extended mile-and-a-quarter event, and is relishing the prospect of another duel with Sir Michael Stoute´s colt. Although Notable Guest ran out a half-length winner from Crow Wood in the Duke Of Edinburgh Stakes at last month´s Royal meeting, Quinn has high hopes of his charge reversing the placings this time. 'He´ll definitely run and we go there with confidence,' he said. 'It should be very interesting having another go with Notable Guest. 'My horse ran into a little bit of trouble last time at York and because Sir Michael´s has gone up 5lb it should bring us a bit closer together.' Quinn is confident that Crow Wood, currently a 10-1 chance with William Hill, will not be inconvenienced by Saturday´s step back in trip after running over 12 furlongs but he would like to see good ground on the Knavesmire. 'I´m very happy with him, he´s in good form and should be happy in himself with the sharper trip at the weekend,' added Quinn. 'He needs decent ground to be at his best. It would be a bit of a step into the unknown if it was soft.' (C)PA Sport
