Jim Culloty is struggling to find a suitable opening for Legal Exit.

A decent novice hurdler in 2012-13, he missed last season through injury.

He made his comeback and his debut over fences in a hot novice chase won by Gilgamboa at Navan and travelled well before understandably blowing up close home.

Legal Exit is entered in a Grade One at Leopardstown over Christmas but Culloty would like to see him get his head in front before thinking in those terms.

"He's ready to run but I'm just looking for a suitable opening," said Culloty.

"If anything he travelled too well the last day as he had nothing left for the finish.

"He's a horse who has had an issue with his wind in the past but he didn't make a noise that day so I wouldn't be looking at going further than two miles at present.

"He's won a point-to-point (over three miles) but we won't be stepping him back up in trip yet.

"The problem is there are no beginners chases over two miles at the moment, they all seem to be two and a half or two-six."
