< Casual Conquest returned to winning form with a hard-fought success in the main race on a high-class card at the Curragh, the Royal Whip Stakes.< Red Rock Canyon led the way in the 10-furlong Group Two contest, but Casual Conquest took over with two and a half furlongs to go and was immediately joined by British challenger Curtain Call

These two battled it out to the line, with Dermot Weld's 8-13 favourite always just having the edge under Pat Smullen and going on at the finish to score by a length and a quarter. The rest were well behind.

Weld went on to a Pattern-race double when Famous Name dismissed the opposition with contemptuous ease in the Desmond Stakes.< Poet took over from Ballydoyle stablemate Man Of Iron with two furlongs to run, but Famous Name sauntered up shortly after and Smullen did not have to move a muscle as he cruised four and a half lengths clear.

The four-year-old (30-100) was completing a Curragh hat-trick, the last two victories coming at Group Three level.< Girouette led all the way to take the Patrick P. O'Leary Memorial Phoenix Sprint in the hands of Pat Shanahan.

The Tracey Collins-trained filly saw off Croisultan and had what looked a winning advantage passing the furlong marker, but she was pressed hard as Perfect Polly put in a late charge.

The pair were locked together as they flashed past the post, but the print showed that Girouette (5-1) had held on by a short head.< Gile Na Greine (6-1), a full-sister to the top-class Cuis Ghaire, made a winning debut in the Loder EBF Fillies Race for Jim Bolger.

Ballydoyle contender Black Eyed Susan kicked for home fully three furlongs out and was tracked by the eventual winner, who gradually wore her down and hit the front 100 yards under Kevin Manning to score by a length and a quarter.

Bolger and Manning doubled up when Penthesilea Eile (10-1) arrived late on the scene to overhaul top-weight Via Con Dios by a neck in the www.racingacademy.ie Handicap.
