Curragh Cup among upgraded races The Curragh Cup will carry Group Two honours for the first time this year. In the 2015 renewal, which was run as a Group Three, subsequent Doncaster St Leger runner-up Bondi Beach pipped his stablemate Order Of St George, who went on to pulverise his rivals in the Irish Leger and was named the world's best stayer earlier this week. The Minstrel Stakes at the Curragh, won last year by Gordon Lord Byron on the disqualification of Home Of The Brave, has also been upgraded to Group Two level, while the Flame Of Tara Stakes at the same venue is now a Group Three. Her Majesty's Plate, won last year by Order Of St George, will become Down Royal's first Listed race on the level, and other changes include to the Challenge Stakes, which is now for fillies and mares only.
