This afternoon's meeting at the Curragh has passed an early morning inspection and goes ahead as planned.

The track fared a lot better than many parts of the country in terms of yesterday's weather and, after receiving 10mm of rain, the ground is described as good to yielding, yielding in places on the straight course and good to yielding on the round course. There is a cross-wind at present but that is predicted to ease heading into the afternoon and it's set to be mainly dry.

An eight-race card kicks off at 1.45pm.

However, Tramore has been forced to cancel its evening meeting having failed an inspection.

Last night's jumps card was completed despite heavy rainfall but the track is not in a position to race on the Flat today. A jumps card is scheduled for Sunday afternoon at the seaside venue and, with a favourable weather forecast, that is expected to go ahead.

A total of 35mm of rain fell yesterday and overnight and clerk of the course Paddy Graffin outlined concerns about both safety and the likelihood of further damage to the ground with starting stalls due to have been used today.
