The ground at the Curragh has changed to good following 4.5mm of rain overnight, with the situation being monitored in regard to watering for the Derby weekend, beginning today.

Speaking this morning, Clerk of the Course Brendan Sheridan said “the ground has changed to 'good' everywhere. We had 4.5mm of rain yesterday evening and speaking with Met Eireann, there is a possibility of showers today and tomorrow.

“We will monitor the situation regarding watering going forward.

“Richie Brophy and his team here have done a good job through a very dry spell with watering but we are in a good place and are all good to go.”
