Dabadiyan set for step up in class Dabadiyan is to step up in grade following an impressive victory at the Curragh on Sunday. Trainer Michael Halford believes the progressive three-year-old colt, owned by the Aga Khan, deserves to tackle stronger company after romping home by three and a half lengths in a mile-and-a-half handicap. "He seems good and we're very happy with him. It was his first performance in a handicap and he was impressive, so he's ready for a step up," said the County Kildare handler. "I'll have a chat with Pat Downes, his Highness's racing manager, and see where we go from here, but he will be stepping up into stakes class now. He is certainly going the right way. "There a lot of options for him. He doesn't hold any big-race entries, but there will be plenty of possibilities with him. The horse has started to improve at the right time. "We'll sit down and talk about it, but there are no firm plans yet. A mile and a half looks a good trip, but if we need to step him up in trip in time it will be no problem."
