Dabadiyan has been confirmed as an intended runner in the Ascot Underwriting Noel Murless Stakes at Ascot on Friday.

Trained by Mick Halford, the Aga Khan-owned three-year-old was in a rich vein of form earlier in the season, winning three on the bounce but he met with defeat on his most recent outing at Dundalk when beaten by Aidan O'Brien's Afonso De Sousa.

Previously the son of Zamindar had been in the frame for the St Leger and while those aspirations may have been a bit lofty, he will at least get to test his mettle over the Leger trip of a mile and three-quarters for the first time.

"The plan is to run him on Friday at Ascot," said Halford.

"I've been very happy with him since his last race. I know he got beat but he didn't lose much in defeat, it turned into a bit of a sprint and that wouldn't have suited him.

"Before that he'd been very progressive since we stepped him up in trip. He has a preference for good ground and that is what they are calling it at the minute at Ascot, so that should suit him just fine."
