Gordon Elliott ’s Dad Sez justified his short price with an impressive success in the Peadar’s Bar Moate Maiden Hurdle at Kilbeggan.

The Flemensfirth gelding had shaped with promise when fifth on his ‘track’ debut at Galway and went to post a 4/6 shot this evening.

Jack Kennedy let his mount slide into the lead after the second last and he had his rivals toiling before the final flight as he posted a commanding 17-length success.

“It think he’s a smart horse, to be honest,” said Elliott.

“He’s just so big and you can see why he didn’t run until now. He had a real good run in Galway first time out.

“Jack said he was only going around there in second gear the whole way. It was hard to find a race for him but he’s a nice horse.

“He’s a big staying chaser down the road and he’s for sale.”
