Dalakhani Retired

Last Sunday’s brilliant display from Dalakhani will unfortunately be the last racing enthusiasts will get to see of the superb French three-year-old, as the Aga Khan’s colt will now go to stud at his owner’s Gilltown Stud.

Beaten only once in an nine-race career, he will now join a truly exceptional band of stallions at the Co. Kildare farm. His half-brother, Daylami is already resident there, as are, fellow Arc hero, Sinndar as well as 2000 Queen Anne Stakes and Breeders’ Cup Turf winner, Kalanisi.

The retirement announcement of the ‘greatest middle distance performer I have ever trained’ – trainer, Alain de Royer-Dupre, came as no great surprise. His owner is attributed with the comment ‘my operation starts with good breeding. That is what we have done for generations.’
