Dancing Teapot too hot for her rivals Joseph O'Brien's Dancing Teapot was strong in the market for the fillies' maiden over a mile at Gowran Park and the support proved well founded. The 11/8 favourite took over from Chocalho outside the two pole and Dylan Browne McMonagle soon got busy in the saddle. Joyful Princess served it up to her a furlong and a-half out, but Dancing Teapot was in no mood to relent. She skipped home in the closing stages to get off the mark at the fourth time of asking (runner-up twice in Dundalk). In My Teens was a length away in second at 28/1 with Little Miss P the same distance away in third at 50/1. The draw is a bit of a killer here, draw and position are so important here and it’s not always the best horse that wins. She did well to get across from there,” said O’Brien. “I think she’s a filly that could progress. She’s still rated low, but hopefully she can go up through the ranks. “Dylan actually felt that she was waiting a little bit in front, but she galloped on to the line. “She’s a very good worker, and she obviously has a very good pedigree. She’s a winner now and hopefully she can progress. “Her full-brother (Dancing Gemini) looks like a miler, but she might stay a bit further.” When asked if she could attempt to get black-type he added: “Eventually, she’ll probably have to go somewhere before that. She’s only rated 80, but I’d like to think that’s going to be a realistic target at some stage in her career.” Additional reporting by Gary Carson
