Dark put away until spring

Sabrina Harty is already looking forward to next spring with her smart staying hurdler Won In The Dark.

The County Kildare trainer plans to take the seven-year-old to Aintree in April for the Liverpool Hurdle, a race in which he ran a fine third 12 months ago behind the brilliant Big Buck's.

After being campaigned right through to the end of August, Won In The Dark is now enjoying a well-earned break.

"He's on holiday after a summer campaign and a bit of a virus afterwards and we'll bring him back for the spring," said Harty.

"He'll definitely go to Aintree again. He loves it there, so that's where he'll go.

"And he'll possibly have an entry in one of the staying hurdles in Cheltenham, maybe, if the ground looks like it might come up good.

"He's a good-ground horse and sometimes it's hard to find it."
