Jack Davison saddled his first winner of the year when Royal Impact struck on handicap debut at Dundalk yesterday and the Dunboyne trainer had news of his durable sprinter Thunderbear who is being readied for another campaign.

The Kodi Bear six-year-old has won five races including a Group 3 at Newbury in 2023, with his most recent success coming in a six-furlong Listed contest at Naas in October.

"He is on the team again this year, he's busy getting fit by leading the two-year-olds and he's loving life," said Davison.

"He will be out early season, please God, and we might go to Cork on the 4th of April for a Listed race over six (furlongs).

"Great servant, let's hope he can win another stakes race this year.

"He's potent on testing ground, that's his game."
