A runaway winner of his third point-to-point, the William Harvey trained Daydream Nation put up a similarly impressive performance on his Rules debut when making virtually all to take the Joe Bollard Memorial Maiden Hurdle at Gowran Park.

In front from flag fall, jockey Ben Harvey was content to set the pace on the five-year-old son of Doyen.

Headed briefly by Owl's Delight going out on the final circuit, the 9/4 chance was soon back in control. Pushed along to assert after two out, Daydream Nation went clear before the last, before being allowed to coast home for an easy 16 lengths victory.

Ben Harvey said: "We really liked him and with the race cutting up since declarations, we were confident. He was impressive in his point to point for Colin Bowe and Rory Breen, who is now involved in him, picked him out. There are a good group involved, including my mam.

"We'll see what the programme says although he wants nice ground and has the option of running in the UK."
