Trainer Henry de Bromhead is expecting a big run from market leader Heart Wood in the featured Grade 3 O'Driscoll's Irish Whiskey New Year's Day Chase at Tramore on this afternoon.

Praising the initiative of the race sponsors, the Waterford man said: "Fair play to them, they've put up a bonus of €50k for any horse that wins that and wins at Cheltenham, so that's very attractive for everyone.

"They are great supporters of racing as well, O'Driscoll's, they do a lot of sponsoring.

In conversation with Dave Keena, de Bromhead added: "It was a fantastic day when Minella Indo won it. Obviously it was a tough year for us and to see him, he was beaten jumping the last, to see him pull it back out of the bag - he had read the script.

Former Ryanair Chase runner-up Heart Wood currently heads the betting for this year's renewal at 13/8.
