De Bromhead on weather watch for Envoi Henry de Bromhead will keep an eye on the weather over the next couple of weeks before committing Envoi Allen to the Ladbrokes Champion Chase at Down Royal on November 4th. The Muhtathir gelding won the season's first Grade 1 event last year, one of eight top level successes on his CV. On his return at Gowran late last month the nine-year-old could only finish third behind Easy Game in Grade 2 company at Gowran and de Bromhead is wary of running him on testing ground again. The Knockeen handler told journalist Dave Keena:- “He seems in great form so we'll see. He's got his entry and we'll see nearer the time how the ground is etc. “I wouldn't want to run him on real soft ground again, I think he struggled in that at Gowran the other day but he'll come on for the run.”
