High Definition could reappear in the Alleged Stakes at the Curragh this Sunday.

The Galileo colt was a leading fancy for the Derby last year but after a promising run to finish third in the Dante Stakes at York had a disappointing campaign.

He sidestepped Epsom and finished down the field in the Irish Derby. His campaign finished with another well beaten effort in the St Leger at Doncaster.

Trainer Aidan O'Brien is hoping he can leave that form behind him this season and fulfill his early promise.

He told Gary O'Brien on Racing TV yesterday:- “He did his half speed this morning and seemed very happy doing it so it's very possible he'll be there.

“He's ready to go but will improve plenty. They are all at that nice stage to start off but I'd say there is going to be plenty of improvement from them all.

“He obviously was very weak last year, he's a lot heavier this year than he was last year.

“I gave him two runs as a two-year-old and maybe I should have only given him one because he was a big horse and it might have bottomed him out a little bit.

“Then he had a mishap early on (last year) and I rushed him back a little bit for the Dante. I think it might all have got on top of him a little bit.

“He's filled into a big powerful horse now. We think and hope he could leave last year's runs behind him but in saying that his Dante run was very good. We're hopeful.”
