Delany celebrating again at Bellewstown as Escaping gives Keane treble Escaping Thejungle was a popular local winner at Bellewstown tonight when dipping her head at the right time to gain a narrow success in the Dolly’s Bar & Pantry Handicap, giving champion Colin Keane a treble on the card. The Bungle Inthejungle mare is owned by the track’s chairman Alan Delany, who is also assistant trainer to his father Eamon. Keane bounced out in front on the 7/1 shot and she was soon pressed by Fair Taxes in the five furlong contest. It was a ding-dong battle between the pair in the closing stages with Delany’s mare just prevailing by a short-head. Aurora Nova also flashed home to be beaten by the same margin in third. Alan Delany said: Delighted with that! "We ran earlier in the year and just the ground hasn't been with us all year, so we pulled back. "I was delighted when I saw the yielding ground on entry. I was a bit concerned an hour ago whether we would run or not (on drying ground). She's so good here we just said we have to run her and the champion jockey is on her, so we have to do our bit to help him as well. "It all came together, so it was brilliant. "We might look at Navan in 10 days time. It is all ground dependent." (Quotes by Michael Graham)
