Off a mark 8lb higher than when winning her previous start at Down Royal in January, Missus Beeton (15/2) followed up in stylish fashion in Leopardstown’s QuinnBet Mares Handicap Hurdle.

The daughter of Mamool, owned by Kieran Corrigan, made smooth headway on the outer early in the home straight and led on the approach to the final flight before clearing away for a five-length victory over Onefortheditch

Donagh Meyler, who rode a double at this venue yesterday, was on board for trainer Philip Dempsey, who himself was enjoying a second Leopardstown victory in two days after the victory of Dee’s Lady 24 hours earlier.

“She built well on her last run, she won very easy the last day too,” said Dempsey.

“She’s a lovely filly. She’s very small, you can see the (winner’s) rug is swimming on her.

“She loves running like that, coming from off the pace. She’s an honest filly, she’d work with anything.

“She could be a nice filly for the summer, chasing. She jumps away well and she could mix it.”
