Leading amateur jockey Derek O'Connor will miss the rest of the point to point season having broken his leg at Quakerstown on Sunday.

O'Connor, an 11 times Champion Point to Point Rider, was riding the Liam Burke trained Bidasse when the pair came down at the final fence in the winners' of one.

O'Connor tweeted "Fractured left tibia today. 10 weeks on the sidelines. The ups and downs".

O'Connor currently holds just a two winners lead, 35-33, over one-time Champion Rider Jamie Codd, with Barry O'Neill on 31 and Rob James fourth with 22.
