Desperandum Set For New Surroundings Nil Desperandum, fourth in the John Smith's Grand National, will have his final race for Frances Crowley when he lines up in the Gala Casinos Daily Record Scottish equivalent at Ayr on Saturday. The nine-year-old, who finished sixth at Aintree 12 months previously, faces a lack of opportunities in Ireland and connections have decided the gelding will be trained in England.Crowley is also placing less emphasis on her National Hunt operation, however, a new trainer has not yet been chosen.'He will be staying in England after Saturday's race but who will train him is still undecided,' Crowley told the Racing Post.'There are no suitable races for him in Ireland as we don't really cater for these staying chasers.'We have already reduced our jumpers to concentrate more on the Flat, but we'll miss him.'He came out of his Grand National run very well and I couldn't be happier with him. Tommy Treacy will ride again.'It's best for the horse to move to Britain for more opportunities and I'd imagine he'll be trained with Aintree in mind next year,' said Crowley.(C) PA Sport
