Details announced for Live at Leopardstown 2012 For nine summer evenings, Dublin’s only racecourse will combine the atmosphere of a boutique music festival with the best in horse racing, all for the unbeatable price of €15. This year the festival has the added attraction of a weather-proofed Big Top which will host the live concerts after racing. Ciaran Conroy, Commercial Manager of Leopardstown stated “Now in its fourth year, we’re proud that LIVE AT LEOPARDSTOWN has enabled many people to experience racing for the first time. "We are delighted to enhance the customer experience by hosting all our concerts under canvas in the Leopardstown Big Top. For 2012, we’ve added top class support acts to further enhance the music element of the festival.” Acts who will headline the Leopardstown Big Top this summer include Bipolar Empire, The Original Rude Boys, The Walls, Kila, Jape, Royseven, The Minutes, Ryan Sheridan and The Sawdoctors. Support acts include The Would Be’s, Frank and Walters, The Raglans, Fred, Keywest, Dead School and The Kanyu Tree. The racing element of the summer series always produces exciting talent on the track and for this alone is worth attending. Each week LIVE AT LEOPARDSTOWN attracts some of the best flat racehorses competing for valuable prize money which totals over €1.2 million over the entire summer season. Camelot who won last Saturday’s Qipco 2000 Guineas in Newmarket and is now favourite for the Investec Derby made his debut at LIVE AT LEOPARDSTOWN on July 14th last year. Other Summer festival notables include Akeed Mofeed and Parish Hall who are now both prominent in the Derby betting. Daddy Long Legs ran last August at Leopardstown and went on to win the UEA Derby in March 2012. The food offerings at LIVE AT LEOPARDSTOWN is more appealing than ever – for €30 the Festival Bundle ticket includes admission to racing and concert, a bottle of Budweiser (or soft drink), a complimentary race programme and a meal option from the Festival Food Court Menu. The Pavilion Party Package which offers a panoramic view of the finishing straight is priced at €65 and includes a prosecco reception and a three course buffet at a reserved table. A Racing Tipster is also on hand to advise on picking a winner. LIVE AT LEOPARDSTOWN will commence on June 8th and conclude on August 16th 2012. This year’s series will be hosted over nine evenings. 2012 acts are outlined below: * Friday June 8th sees rising pop rock band Bipolar Empire headline the Big Top to get the festival season started in style supported by jangly pop band The Would Be’s. * The following Thursday, Euro 2012 fever hits Leopardstown with the Ireland vs. Spain match taking place after racing in the Big Top, followed by another unmissable live performance from The Original Rudeboys. * Stunning rockers The Walls come to Leopardstown on Thursday June 21st supported by Indie legends the Frank & Walters * Celtic Rock aficionados Kila are back by popular demand on Thursday July 5th supported by the acoustic and lively four-piece The Raglans * Prize-winning electro outfit Jape, appear on Thursday July 12th with support from Fred whose album “Leaving my Empire” has been critically acclaimed. * Royseven, one of the best live acts around headline the 19th July with support Keywest who are a Dublin five piece pop/rock group * Rock Merchants The Minutes, (fresh from supporting The Stone Roses) will debut in Leopardstown on Thursday July 26th supported by alternative rock act Dead School * Celebrated singer-songwriter Ryan Sheridan will be supported by the very popular The Kanyu Tree on Thursday August 9th * Leopardstown party favourites The Sawdoctors will bring the LIVE AT LEOPARDSTOWN season to a close on Thursday August 16th.
