Devil’s Angel (16/1) registered a ninth career success and a first Irish success today, landing Navan’s Flower Hill Apprentice Handicap for trainer Kevin Coleman and jockey Jack Kearney.

All eight of the nine-year-old’s previous wins were gained in the UK and today ended a 16-race losing spell in Ireland, when quickening to score by 1.25 lengths from My Girl Sioux

Regarding the One In A Million Partnership-owned gelding, Kearney commented "the handicapper probably just started to give him a chance. He has always been running well, finishing third, fourth, second throughout the winter months but this is probably the first time he gave him a proper chance.

"He relished a good pace early, he took me the whole way and loved it. In fairness to him, when I asked for him he put his head down and galloped out to the line. I passed one and he put his mind to it and, lucky enough, I had always something to aim at.

"I was drawn 15, I just wanted to get a clear run — there was no point going in looking for trouble and it worked out smoothly."
