Discordantly to run in Irish National Discordantly is on target for a tilt at the Irish Grand National as the Jessica Harrington trained seven year old gets in at 10st for the Fairyhouse showpiece race. A maiden hurdle winner at the Co Meath venue, Discordantly was a handicap chase winner at Galway last October and finished sixth last time in the Ultima Handicap Chase at the Cheltenham Festival. Harrington's daughter Kate Harrington reports “I think he’ll get the trip very well and on the bit of drying ground I think we’ll see him to best effect. “He had a few days off after Cheltenham and put on plenty of weight. He absolutely thrived on his trip over to Cheltenham and Debbie who rides him every day is really happy with him. “It looks like he’s going to have ten stone and I think Paddy Kennedy is going to get down to that weight to ride him. We’re very happy with him. “I feel he has a bit of improvement to come. I think there is a big day in him and, if it’s not this year in the Irish National, he’s a horse that will definitely be targeted for the English National.”
