Doctor Steinberg enjoyed a facile success in the bumper at Ballinrobe for Willie Mullins.

Patrick Mullins took a few lengths out of the pursuers outside the 'two' pole and the 1/3 favourite soon had the field in trouble.

He asserted on the run to the home bend and was far from troubled in coming in by 11 lengths from Jisco Du Brem (17/2). Ned In The Park was another five lengths back in third at 13/2.

Jockey Mullins said: “I think he’s a good-class horse. We were disappointed to get beaten the last day, but I think we ran into a nice type.

“He could be one for a maiden hurdle in Galway. I wouldn’t be surprised if he makes up into a winter horse next year.

“He has a nice pedigree and is by a good stallion. He’ll win plenty of races.”
