DOUBLE`S FIRST HURDLES RUN

Double Thriller makes his seasonal debut over timber tomorrow in the Sunley Novices` Hurdle at Newbury.

The Paul Nicholls-trained chaser, having his first run over the smaller obstacles, has not raced since being pulled up in the Tote Cheltenham Gold Cup last March.

Nicholls explained: 'I wanted to run to run him at Ascot last Saturday but we didn`t have a suitable jockey and he was really a gallop short.

'But he`s fit and well and he`s not going there needing a run.

'A run over hurdles won`t do him any harm before he goes chasing. He`s used to running under big weights in better races and this might do him the world of good.'

Nicholls is keeping his options open for the 10-year-old and will wait to see how he performs tomorrow before making firmer plans.

The trainer added: 'There are loads of races he could go for but let`s get tomorrow over with first.'
