Doubts Over Thomas's Dirt Pedigree? Aidan O'Brien has reported that Irish Derby and Irish Champion stakes winner Dylan Thomas is in great shape ahead of his eagerly awaited American debut. The son of Danehill is set to lock horns with Breeders Cup Classic favourite Bernardini in this Saturday's Jockey Club Gold Cup at Belmont Park. Saturday's race in New York will see the Dylan Thomas tackling the Dirt for the first time, and even though his sire Danehill has a relatively poor record at producing winners on the dirt, Aidan O'Brien remains optimistic that the three year old will handle the conditions at Belmont park. If the Ballydoyle star runs a big race on Saturday, then the three year old may return to the States for a crack at the Breeders Cup Classic in Kentucky on November the 4th, where he could be joined by last years Breeders Cup Turf winner, Shirrocco and Britain's, triple Group 1 winner David Junior.Saturday 4th November:Breeders Cup Classic: 13-8 Bernardini, 7-2 Invasor, 5-1 Lava Man, 7-1 Discreet Cat, 10-1 Shirocco, 11-1 David Junior, 12-1 Dylan Thomas, 14-1 Sun King, 20-1 Its No Joke, Lawyer Ron, Strong Contender, 25-1 Brother Derek, Premium Tap, Stevie Wonderboy, Super Frolic, 33-1 Ball Four, Giacomo, Perfect Drift, Suave.
