Ricky Doyle made his first ride for ‘Shark’ Hanlon a winning one when Topgun Simmy ran out a cosy victor of the concluding beginners chase at Kilbeggan.

The 3/1 shot travelled well to tackle No Time To Wait going to the last and got on top on the run-in for a comfortable length-and-three-quarters success.

“The main thing tonight was getting a good round of jumping in after falling in Listowel on his last chase start,” said Doyle.

“He warmed up to it lovely and winged fences. Obviously the five non-runners was a big help but he is a good horse.

“I think the more he runs the more confidence he’ll get with his jumping and he should be a bit of fun.

“It’s my first ride for Shark, hopefully not the last.”
