Dream Fairyhouse result for local owner-breeders Local-homebred Workinonadream (9/4) gained a deserved and appropriate first success at Fairyhouse today, as the Philip Rothwell-trained mare landed the HAY 'How Are Ya' Mares Maiden Hurdle for brothers Ivan and Thomas Sutton. Previously placed in eight of ten starts, the Mount Nelson-sired mare today improved in a good recent runner-up effort at Limerick’s Christmas festival, when arriving to lead at the final fence, defeating Swing Davis by 4.25 lengths. Rothwell reported “two brothers Ivan and Thomas Sutton own her and they also bred her. They live about two miles over the road so this is fantastic. The mare has been running so consistently well and really deserved today. “There was a maiden hurdle for horses rated 110 or less at Punchestown in a fortnight and I was so close to waiting for it as it was made for her with the mares allowance. However it was Gordon’s mare’s (Elliott, Swing Davis) first run in a hurdle and ours was battled-hardened so we gave it a go with Tiernan’s (Power Roche) 7lb claim. “Her form from Limerick has worked out very well so she deserved to go and thank-God it worked. We might try and find a black-type mares handicap to see if we could sneak a little bit of placed black-type with her as the lads will probably breed from her.” Quotes from Gary Carson
