Dubawi Shows True Colours

Erasing the memory of his Newmarket eclipse in magnificent style, Dubawi set the Curragh alight today with an impressive two length win in the Boylesports Irish 2,000 Guineas.

Always travelling supremely well, Frankie Dettori sent his partner to the front under the quarter mile marker and he easily disposed of fellow 7/4 joint favourite, Oratorio.

English Guineas sixth, Democratic Deficit was a further six lengths back in third, with the runner-up from there, Rebel Rebel fourth. Of course Dettori performed his customary flying dismount. Plans remain fluid for the son of Dubai Millennium.

Simon Chrisford, racing manager to Sheikh Mohammed, said, 'he's entered in everything from a mile to a mile and a half including the St James' Palace Stakes and the English and French Derbys.'

Reaction from bookmakers was to cut Dubawi drastically in the betting for the Epsom Derby (from 14/1 he is now as short as sharing favouritism with one firm).
