Friday night racing at Dundalk has become a regular feature of the winter programme for the past six years, and the Co. Louth venue turns on its lights again this week.

The Group 3 Diamond Stakes will be the opening evening feature as racing takes place at Dundalk every Friday (except St Stephen's Day) until May 15 next year.

Greyhound racing is also held in conjunction with the programme, following immediately after the horse card, and there is a stand-alone dog card every Saturday night.

Racing commences each Friday at 6.15pm with a 7/8 race card followed by an eight race greyhound meeting, starting at 9.40pm, and rounded off by music until 12.30am.

The following weeks at Dundalk see a number of Listed races up for grabs, namely Star Appeal (Oct 10), Carlingford (Oct 17), Mercury (Oct 24) and Cooley Stakes (Oct 31).

Emma Meehan, Sales and Marketing Manager at Dundalk Stadium, said, "We are looking forward to the start of the season and are delighted to be in a position to provide an extension to the flat racing programme in Ireland throughout the winter.

"It allows us to showcase both sports every Friday evening whilst continuing to offer great value and plenty of action for our customers. We have many packages in place to suit all budgets; and we have just launched our Christmas racing packages which are already proving very popular!”
