Duntle misses Falmouth Connections have decided against running Duntle in Friday's Etihad Airways Falmouth Stakes at Newmarket. The David Wachman-trained filly was not among the declarations for the Group One over a mile this morning. The Danehill Dancer filly had worked on Monday ahead of the possible trip with connections saying then that they would mull over the decision to travel across the water. Duntle lifted the Group Two Duke Of Cambridge Stakes at Royal Ascot on her latest start. She was also first past the post in the Group One Matron Stakes at Leopardstown last September only to lose the race in the stewards' room. The Falmouth field is headed by Richard Hannon's 1000 Guineas winner Sky Lantern, who backed up her Newmarket triumph with a stunning display in the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot. She now faces her elders for the first time, including last year's winner Giofra. Alain de Royer-Dupre's mare has been winless in five races since succeeding 12 months ago, but she has travelled extensively having run in Hong Kong and Dubai. John Gosden's Elusive Kate has two Group Ones to her name, both in France, but she was second in the Sun Chariot last season and ran a fine race against the colts on her comeback in the Queen Anne at Royal Ascot. The line-up is completed by William Muir's Purr Along, a smart juvenile who met with a setback earlier in the season before making a satisfactory reappearance in the Coronation behind Sky Lantern.
