Dylan Browne McMonagle on a run with a rapid treble Bear On The Run (14/1) doubles her tally and gives Dylan Browne-McMonagle a rapid treble in the process by winning the Mitsubishi Electric Handicap at the Curragh. This daughter of Kodi Bear had been off the track for 372 days after landing a gamble in a Dundalk maiden on her second start. Danny Murphy's filly settled in mid-division early on, and although still some way back, she was last off the bridle. When asked, the Kildare and Kilmichael Racing Syndicate's rival picked up well to go between challengers and lead inside the final 50 yards, beating Moltophino (9/2) by three-quarters of a length. Long-time leader Genesis (11/2) was a further short head back in third. Winning trainer Murphy exclaimed, "One year off the track. I have to thank Anglesey Lodge for all their work and my own staff because they put plenty of effort into her. I know she's half decent this filly. It was so frustrating. We brought her to Naas even three weeks ago and she was a little bit off. Mark MacRedmond, the Anglesey vet, came and he fixed her. He injected her for us and he said 'that'll go and win today.' “She was a great price 16/1. We all had a few quid on. It's great for the syndicate. She's a three-year-old baby really against seasoned handicappers. It's great to win. I trained her half-sister, Dun Na Sead, and she won the Group 3 for me." Additional reporting by John O'Riordan
