Dylan gains deserved hurdle win Tara Dylan gained an overdue success over jumps at Kilbeggan when running out a cosy winner of the opening maiden hurdle. David Mullins, riding for his father Tom and mother Helen, jumped out in front on the easy to back 7/4 favourite (10/11 in morning) and she dictated matters. The daughter of Dylan Thomas had her rivals on the stretch before the last and only had to be shaken up briefly to record a seven-and-a-half length win over Marine One. Tara Dylan had been placed on eight occasions over hurdles previously, including when second here a fortnight ago. She is a three-time winner on the Flat. “She was a very frustrating mare. She had some proper runs in maiden hurdles against a few of Willie's horses and stuff like that,” said the winning rider. “It took a long time to come but I think Dad sorted out something with her at home, I'm not 100 percent sure what it is — I don't get into too much detail with him! “She improved the last day and she went on and did it nicely here.”
