The 2022 Punchestown Festival gets under way tomorrow and Rachael Blackmore partners Envoi Allen and Bob Olinger for Henry de Bromhead in the Grade 1 William Hill Champion Steeplechase and the Grade 1 Dooley Insurance Champion Novice Steeplechase respectively.

Horse Racing Ireland's CEO Suzanne Eade said that Blackmore's achievements continue to have a very positive impact on Irish racing.

"She is bringing in new people to the industry all the time. It is giving people confidence that this is a very inclusive sport and industry," Eade said.

"She is competing every day on equal terms and competing very effectively.

"It is really important that young people coming into the industry have a role model like Rachael because everything about her is so personable as well - she has time for everyone and is not aloof from the crowds. Young girls and young boys can get close and see her magic up close."
