Joseph O'Brien's Early Doors is set to have another crack at the Irish Grand National after a staying-on fifth in last year's renewal at Fairyhouse.

The 10-year-old gelding is scheduled to run in the Grade B Grand National Trial Handicap Steeplechase over an extended 3m4f at Punchestown on Sunday.

Assistant trainer Brendan Powell said: "I'd say it probably would be (plan to go back to the Irish Grand National). He seems in good form.

"His last run wasn't great at Gowran Park, but maybe the trip will suit him a bit better.

"He did make up a lot of ground in last year's Irish Grand National.

"I would say so (go to Punchestown), he's working at home so would be working towards that."
