Eastmore gets his favoured ground in the north Eastmore (13/2 - 4/1) rallied to winning effect in the Dale Farm Dromona Handicap Hurdle at Down Royal. The five-year-old gelding was headed on the run-in by Desert Haven (8/1), but rallied to get up by a neck close home despite Philip Byrnes dropping his rein in the closing stages. Avalo, the 7/2 favourite, was three-quarters of a length away in third. Charles Byrnes said: "He always showed enough at home, but the first day he got sort of good to firm ground. "He definitely wants that and it was lively here last year (runner-up). The watered good ground doesn't suit him at all - it has to be as quick as possible, his wind is not great. He is ground dependent. "He did (rally well) and he had a light weight today, so that made a difference."
