Aurora Nova (morning 9/1, returned 100/30) registered a third success today, landing Down Royal’s Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Handicap for trainer Andy McNamara, owners the Dreams Of Glory Syndicate and jockey Jamie Powell.

Previously successful at Fairyhouse last year and Bellewstown in April, the daughter of Holy Roman Emperor travelled well in today’s race and quickened to comfortably beat runner-up Moral Turpitude by 2.75 lengths.

McNamara commented "she's a good, genuine filly who is too hard on herself on occasions and can work herself up, but is very honest.

“She's not great to break and the last day up the Curragh there was about 23 runners and she broke last but was only beaten two lengths. She didn't break too badly today and I'd say small fields probably suit her as well.

"She picked the right day to win as it was a good pot (€14,400 first prize) and we’ll definitely keep her going over the summer.

“She has won well there, so I'd imagine she will get a nice few pounds for that, so she might be a bit hard to place. The way she won there, we could chance getting black-type with her: that might be aiming a little high, but we might give it a go."
