Easyfix Hurdles to be used at Fairyhouse on Sunday All three hurdle races at Fairyhouse on Sunday are to be contested over Easyfix?s newly developed hurdles, which have passed extensive tests in recent times.Since their initial successful introduction at Limerick races last November, the new hurdles have been trialled by approximately 2000 horses in schooling races at Thurles and Tipperary while leading trainers in Ireland and the UK already use the hurdles on a daily basis.Following the success of the Easyfix ?Chase Fence? (developed in 2003), the Turf Club approached the company to construct a suitable hurdle for racing and, following months of trials and after consulting with leading trainers and jockeys, Easyfix developed a hurdle which is safe for horse and jockey. Tom Howley, of EASYFIX, mentioned 'since its trial at Limerick, we have had a brilliant response to the new hurdles from trainers and jockeys throughout Ireland. Schooling hurdles have been run most weeks in Tipperary and Thurles, and the feedback has been very positive. We are really looking forward to racing over the hurdles at Fairyhouse on Sunday. The hurdles have all the characteristics of the traditional hurdle in both size and height while riders feel horses jump them brilliantly.'Easyfix currently sponsor leading jump jockey Andrew McNamara.
