The easy-to-back Lady In Gold sprang a 25/1 surprise under Joey Sheridan in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden.

One of two Joseph O'Brien-trained representatives in the line-up, the E210,000 Arqana Breeze Up purchase failed to make an impact when eighth on debut last month.

Slightly slow into stride this evening, the St Mark's Basilica bay was soon settled in mid-division, making good headway on the inner early in the straight.

Ridden to challenge with less than two furlongs to go and soon edging to the front, she kept on well in the closing stages to score by a length-and-a-half.

Returned at 13/8, Astronomically had to settle for the runner-up berth for a fourth time in succession, while Vishaya (4/1), a stable companion of the winner, was half-a-length back in third.

The Dermot Weld-trained Eclat was sent to post the 6/4 favourite under Colin Keane and she finished a disappointing sixth.

"She's a filly that does everything right at home and she actually ran better than what her finishing position was the last day. You could have upgraded that performance," Sheridan said of the Sights On Gold Two Partnership-owned victor.

"Tonight, she just missed it (break) a beat again, but I was happy just to get her to relax and get her to do things right. Ended up in a lovely position, I was following Declan (McDonogh, Vishaya) and Colin (Keane, Eclat).

"Exactly (mile gave her a chance to finish out) and I actually got there a bit too soon. She was plenty green, so plenty of improvement."
