Eddery returns at Goodwood Pat Eddery returns to action tomorrow at Goodwood after a week on the sidelines due to suspension.The 50-year-old jockey has been out of action since last Monday but will be aiming to come back with a bang on the first day of Goodwood`s first meeting of the year.He kicks off his day by partnering Key Virtue for Amanda Perrett in the opening Trehearne Architects Maiden Stakes but his big mount for the day is Playapart in the Listed Letheby & Christopher Predominate Stakes.The Gerard Butler-trained colt is considered a lively outsider for the Vodafone Derby after winning the Feilden Stakes at Newmarket but he disappointed on his last run when finishing only third behind Sohaib in the Philip Leverhulme Dee Stakes at Chester.Eddery takes over on board the son of Theatrical for the Listed one mile, three furlong event, as regular pilot Eddie Ahern is serving a five-day suspension.He has three more rides at the Sussex track _ Laggan Minsterl in the Newton Investment Management Stakes, Leitrim Rock in the Anne Francis Stevens Memorial Maiden Stakes and Keetchy for John Dunlop in the closing Mitsubishi Diamond Vision Stakes.Eddery, 11 times the champion jockey in Britain, is currently sitting on 4,481 domestic wins and he only needs another 13 winners to beat Lester Piggott`s record of 4,493 career successes.
